Q: Gardens And Developments, Glossop, was presented recently with the first ever prestigious title of ‘Best Project by a New Member’ at the inaugural Marshalls Register Awards 2008.

The Awards organised by Marshalls plc, the UK’s leading hard landscaping manufacturer, were created to celebrate excellence in hard landscaping design and installation within its membership of Registered Installers.

Covering a range of categories from ‘Best Driveway’ to ‘Best Use of Marshalls Ethically Sourced Haworth Moor Sandstone’, the Awards attracted several hundred project submissions from its 1000 strong associated Member companies from all around the UK.

David Jessop, Operations Manager, Marshalls Register, said:
"I am delighted for Q: Gardens and Developments and Nick Wong in receiving this Award as they are an excellent example of the professionalism of service, design and installation you receive when choosing a Marshalls Register Member. “The standard of design and craftsmanship throughout all the submissions received was of the highest quality and made the job of judging a very difficult task indeed, so for Q: Gardens & Developments can be very proud of themselves in winning this Award."

The accolade was given to the company for their work to a bungalow forecourt in Glossop. The judging team felt the restrained but effective design complemented the bungalow seamlessly. The work was also to an exceptional standard of craftsmanship.

The Awards were launched by Marshalls last spring to its Marshalls Register of Approved Landscape Contractors and Driveway Installers. Although they are not directly employed by Marshalls, they do abide by a strict code of installation practice and are regularly vetted by Marshalls’ assessors.

To reach the final, Marshalls held 12 regional events around the UK with 55 companies receiving Regional Awards. These were then pitched against each other to make the shortlist in the relevant categories for the final Awards presentation.
